Homeland Security and Civil Liberties Post-September 11
To support an expansion of the Homeland Security project created in 2002. The Century Foundation will continue to monitor, analyze, and call attention to ongoing developments related to several public policies that have changed dramatically since September 11: personal privacy, government secrecy, immigration, government sponsorship of scientific research, the role of the media, and homeland security governance. The results of these efforts will be tracked through visits to the Century Foundation's web site, monthly reports to journalists, publication of pamphlets and other reports, issuing policy recommendations, and the creation of a bipartisan task force to examine the impact of the Patriot Act.
